- Recognition and Elimination of Bias MCLE, Bias-Reducing Strategies Subtopic
This is an elective course that is NOT included in the New Attorney Training Program requirement for newly admitted attorneys.
This training has been developed to facilitate compliance by State Bar licensees with changes to the Rules of the State Bar that became operative on January 1, 2022. This course meets the requirements of State Bar Rule 2.72, subsections (A)(1)(b) and (B)(2)(a)(ii)(1). It provides an overview of different types of bias, with a specific focus on implicit bias and the promotion of bias-reducing strategies to address how unintended biases regarding race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, and/or other characteristics undermine confidence in the legal system and impact the legal profession.
NOTE: You must get a passing score of 80 out of 100 on the post-assessment to complete this course.
